I had a 4 hour layover in Tokyo on my way to Bangkok. My main goal was to find some sushi. I asked around about going outside the airport but most of the people didn’t think I had time to do so, since Narita airport is far enough from Tokyo. So, I set out to explore what the airport had to offer. I found the only sushi restaurant there, and sat down have some. It was delicious. I don’t usually eat Nigiri (or raw fish in general) but I figured I had to try something outside of my comfort zone. There were two men next to me that spoke english so I asked them what was good and they told me to try the fatty tuna. I did, and it almost melted in your mouth it was so soft.
I had a bunch more sushi/nigiri (which is still pricy in Japan). Then I walked by some “dayrooms” where you can shower and nap, so I said, “why not” and had a nice shower and 20 minute nap for 15 bucks.
The flight from NRT to BKK was delayed a bit – we had to taxi back to the terminal to fix a non-critical dashboard light. Only 45 minutes delayed, but the flight ended up having so many open seats that I was able to snag 4 to myself and lay down!
