Welcome to my blog! This is my first blog ever, and it’s taken me a while to get going on it, but it’s also the first time I’m going on a 4 month journey too! I’ll be trying to post on here fairly periodically to document my travels for everyone back home, and put anyone that’s worrying about me at ease (hi Mom & Dad!)
For those of you who were uninformed, I’m going on a sabbatical for roughly 4 months, hence the site name (sabbaticalsteve.com) and traveling around the world by myself.
I’ve decided to start my journey in Maui for a week with my mother so she can send me off on my way. From there I head to Bangkok, Thailand – by way of Tokyo, Japan (4 hour layover – hoping to get some sushi in!) You can track my travel plan and current location on this dedicated page. I’ve bought my ticket to Bangkok, and the return flight back from New Zealand in mid January, but other than that everything is up in the air (no pun intended). I’ll be buying some last minute tickets whenever I feel like moving on, and letting the journey be my destination! I just have to end up in New Zealand at some point…
